Beck Ritzel is in his third year here at the David Eccles School of Business. He is majoring in Management with a minor in Information Systems. Beck got involved early, serving as a Business Scholar Ambassador during his sophomore year. He has also been in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity since his first year and serves as the executive committee recruitment chair. Further developing his leadership skills, Beck is a current intern for Utah Football recruiting.

Discussing his Eccles Experience, Beck mentioned one of his favorite memories was “studying Information Systems in Korea during the 2021 Summer Semester.” Through the Eccles Global learning abroad program, he traveled to South Korea, earned his Information Systems minor, and enjoyed exploring the country and learning abroad with friends. Outside of class, Beck likes anything related to hockey.

“Playing hockey or even just watching hockey are some of my favorite things to do,” he said, adding he also likes to explore new trails around Utah.

When asked about the advice he would give other students, Beck looks back at his education over the past three years and says, “Knowledge is power. The more effort you put into your studies, the more you get out of it. Learning through different experiences is the way to really fulfill your college experience.”

Overall, we can use his experience of learning abroad and getting involved as an example of what the college experience can be.
