Emmanuel Okongo is a sophomore at the David Eccles School of Business. He plans to major in Operations & Supply Chain but is “keeping my options open.” Okongo is a part of Sigma Chi, First Ascent Scholars, and is helping start a new club for black students at the business school called Black in Business (BIB).
“One of my favorite college experiences is going to football games with my friends,” says Okongo. He even got to go to the Rose Bowl this year! He enjoys meeting new people, having interesting conversations with friends, and learning new things. A great part of his Eccles Experience was attending Winter Sports Day with Business Scholars during his freshman year – where he learned how to ski.
When asked for advice he would give his fellow Eccles peers, Okongo focuses on the college journey. “Make your college experience, however long it may be, a memorable one. Use all the resources you can and make connections that will benefit you in the long run,” he counsels. “College is a rollercoaster of emotions, but it’s up to you how high and low the roller coaster goes. So always enjoy yourself, have fun, and obtain as much knowledge as possible before life hits you.”
Okongo graduates in May 2025 and plans to get a job in his field of interest and travel the world.
