The recent Transfer Business Scholars trip to New Orleans provided an excellent balance of valuable learning and cultural experiences. We gained unique exposure to the hospitality industry through our company visits to AlliedPRA, a global destination management company, and Melba’s Po’boys, a fast-growing local restaurant and laundromat. Both organizations exemplified the welcoming spirit of New Orleans, and shared helpful insights regarding how they grew from small beginnings to thriving enterprises in the hospitality industry. In addition to the company visits, we enjoyed exploring the iconic Garden District, trying traditional New Orleans cuisine, taking a steamboat tour of the Mississippi River, and networking with one another. It was a trip to remember!
