Faculty Career Mentor & BCS Partner Awards
It is with pleasure that we announce the recipients of the 2020-2021 Faculty Career Mentor and BCS Partner Awards.
Faculty Career Mentor Awards
Faculty Career Mentors are selected based on student nominations and recognize faculty for the important and active role they play in inspiring students in their career explorations. Students shared that faculty they nominated: “helped me through recruiting;” “helped me realize that I had many more strengths than I had perceived;” and “pushed me to take hold of my education.” “[Their] advice and mentorship helped me envision what my career can be after school.” “[Their] words of encouragement help me believe I can do hard things.” We commend and thank these recipients for their success in connecting education with career preparation.
BCS Faculty Partner Award
Elizabeth Tashjian, Professor of Finance
The Faculty Partner Award is given to faculty members who work closely with our department to maximize career opportunities for students. Among awardee Elizabeth Tashjian’s staggering list of involvements, directorships, and accolades, we note her dedication to the success of women in finance and experiential programs for finance students. Liz has been instrumental in starting the Women in Finance Club, which attracts women to the program and supports them throughout. She organized Emerging Finance Professionals and Week on Wall Street, programs that facilitate firm visits and networking for students, locally and in New York City respectively.
BCS Corporate Partner Awards
Our Corporate Partners Awards recognize the vital role of companies in generating activity and information that fosters career growth and exploration. Corporate Partners have also worked closely with Business Career Services to provide valuable experiences and content to students, like leading trainings and panels, guest starring on the HeyU podcast, and hosting recruiting events for excellent career opportunities for students.
