A sophomore at the Eccles School, Bailey McGartland is double majoring in Operations & Supply Chain and Art History. She’s making the most of her Eccles Experience by getting involved in Eccles student organizations, including Fashion in Business and Women in Business. This year, she had the opportunity to put her business skills to use as the VP of Risk Management for Alpha Chi Omega. She’s looking forward to her upcoming roles as an ambassador for the University of Utah and the Business Scholar Program here at Eccles.
Outside of school, McGartland enjoys reading, crocheting, binge-watching TV, and spending quality time with friends. Her favorite college experience so far has been traveling with the Business Scholars Program to Zion National Park, Dallas, and San Francisco.
“Those experiences and connections I made will stick with me forever,” said McGartland. And while she has loved these trips, she also enjoys the everyday magic of being at the University. “It’s the smaller moments I treasure. Being spontaneously invited to the Pie Pizzeria after class and hanging out on the 2nd floor of SFEBB with friends and coworkers before class.”
Her advice for fellow students is to be present. “Whether you live on or off campus, I recommend getting to campus in the morning and hanging around all day. One of my favorite things during my first year was running into friends on my way to class. And I love when people come up to sit with me in the library.”
