Vivian Chau is a senior studying finance and marketing. Outside of class, Vivian enjoys hanging out with friends, running, playing tennis and pickleball, and attending concerts. She is highly involved and currently serves as the Executive Director of Strategic Outreach for Women in Business (WIB). She is also active in other student organizations and on-campus jobs, such as being an intern for the U Career Success department and a Goff Ambassador.

In an interview with Vivian, she shared a standout Eccles School event, the WIB “Bloom into Business Market.”

“My favorite Eccles experience was being able to help [with] and attend the Women in Business market, where we hosted small, women-owned businesses in a farmers market-style event,” Vivian said. “It was amazing to see and support all the businesses and learn more about their crafts and passions!”

While reflecting on her time at the Eccles School, Vivian stated, “My favorite college experience [overall] has been meeting people throughout my entire college journey. I have enjoyed getting to know individuals from different backgrounds.”

When asked about a piece of advice she would offer to fellow students, she looked back on her own experiences.

“In college, I feel like there is so much emphasis on the future and preparing for what’s ahead,” she said. “While this is important, college goes by so fast, so try to find some balance and stay in the moment too.”

As Vivian prepares for graduation, she hopes to enter the fashion and beauty industry in a marketing or finance role and eventually plans to return to school to pursue an MBA. Ultimately, Vivian serves as a reminder to enjoy the moment — even the small ones — and to make new friends along the way!
