Elizabeth Lopez is a junior studying Operations & Supply Chain. She is actively involved on campus, serving as a member of the Operations & Supply Chain Club, Goff Trailblazers, and First Ascent Scholars. Additionally, Elizabeth is a Business Scholars Ambassador and a Student Leader for Housing and Residential Education. Outside of academics, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.

In an interview, Elizabeth shared one of her most memorable experiences at the Eccles School — an Operations & Supply Chain case competition.

“The experience was more challenging than I had anticipated. Transitioning from learning theoretical concepts in the classroom to applying them to a real-world problem that required thorough technical analysis was a grueling learning process,” she said. “The journey was harder than I had anticipated it to be, but thankfully, all of my team’s efforts paid off when we placed in the competition! It was a fun and thrilling opportunity that definitely contributed to who I am as a student.”

This competition sparked Elizabeth’s interest in the Goff Trailblazers program, where she is now working on a consulting project focused on clean energy research and advancing a more sustainable future.

When asked for advice she would offer to fellow students, Elizabeth emphasized the importance of building personal connections in addition to extracurricular involvement.

“While there’s a lot of focus on getting involved in clubs and organizations, building connections with the people you sit next to is just as important!” she said. “There is community in clubs, organizations, and events, but there is also an invaluable sense of community in your classmates.”

Ultimately, Elizabeth highlighted the importance of both academic challenges and personal connections in shaping a successful college experience. Through her involvement in the Eccles School, she is building a solid foundation for her future career in operations and supply chain management.

Elizabeth serves as a reminder to fellow students that growth comes not only from the experiences we seek out but also from the relationships we build along the way.
