First-Semester Course Registration Session

Welcome to the David Eccles School of Business! We are so excited that you have decided to join us for your business education.

Before starting in the classroom here at the University of Utah, you must attend both Utah Bound (New Student Orientation) and the Eccles School’s First-Semester Course Registration Session. All sessions are conducted in a group-advising format.

Follow the steps below to launch your Eccles Experience.

The number one. Specifically Step One.

Register for Utah Bound

Utah Bound Orientation is the University of Utah’s official welcome program for incoming students. It is a required program for all new students at the University of Utah.

During Utah Bound, we will connect you with academic resources, introduce you to campus life, and build a sense of community before the semester begins.

All students who have selected to attend a Virtual Utah Bound Orientation must complete the required Utah Bound online modules before they can proceed to registering for a First-Semester Course Registration Session (Step #2).

Register for a First-Semester Course Registration Session

After you have attended Utah Bound (Step #1), it’s time to sign up for your Eccles School’s First-Semester Course Registration Session. A reminder that these sessions are conducted in a group-advising format.

If you want to attend an in-person session, contact our Eccles orientation team at Orientation@Eccles.Utah.edu for dates and availability. Due to the large incoming class, we have limited availability for one-on-one appointments and therefore encourage international students to attend the group advising sessions.

If neither option works for you, please fill out this form to be considered for a one-on-one First-Semester Course Registration Session. Please note that this process is already an exception to the standard Eccles Orientation Enrollment policy and, therefore, may require some additional responsibilities on the student.

Complete the Eccles Beginnings Canvas Course

After you have registered for a First-Semester Course Registration Session (Step #2), you will be added to the Eccles Beginnings Canvas Course. You must complete the course and take the mandatory quiz with a 100% score (multiple attempts allowed) prior to receiving a confirmation email with the Zoom link to join the meeting. The quiz must be completed 48 hours prior to the session you registered for.

Attend your First-Semester Course Registration Session

Once you complete the Eccles Beginnings Canvas Course and Quiz (Step 3), you will receive the Zoom link to attend your First-Semester Course Registration Session. Once you’ve completed the session, you are ready to roll! We’re excited to welcome you to our Eccles Community.
