Eccles student Kyleigh Cassidy is a senior majoring in Management and Marketing. She recently completed a summer internship with Dell Technologies.

What was your favorite thing about your internship?
My favorite thing about this internship was the culture at Dell. I had the opportunity to work alongside a team of incredibly talented interns. We were immediately exposed to a diverse and collaborative culture that was constantly encouraged. Everyone was willing to collaborate, making every day fulfilling and fun.

What was the hardest part of the interview process?

The hardest part for me was the waiting period to see if I would advance to the next round of interviews. The moments waiting were anxiety-ridden and would always make me question how I did in the interview. It was one of those moments where I just wanted them to ‘rip off the band-aid’ because it was so hard to sit and wait.

Luckily, my Business Career Coach, Ashlee Roberts, was extremely patient with me and helpful through these periods. She reminded me to continue focusing on the positive and would help me prepare for the next interview even when I hadn’t heard back yet. She was awesome at helping me calm my nerves.

What is a piece of advice you would give to fellow students applying for internships?
My advice is to research the company you are interviewing for! I really wanted this internship, so I read everything about Dell, its history, mission statements, products, etc. My interviewers were very impressed with my knowledge of Dell, which helped me stand out.
