Common QAMO Career Paths
QAMO offers a set of foundational tools that can take you in any direction. Because of this, there isn’t just one QAMO career path; our alumni go in many different directions.
Consulting
Consultants are the specialist problem- solvers of the business world, brought in to work the knotty problems that clients can’t solve themselves.
Analytics
QAMO alumni combine data analytics with solid strategic thinking, helping companies ask the right questions in addition to pulling insights from data.
Business
Pursue a career in finance, marketing, supply chain management, or other business fields by combining QAMO with a business minor/emphasis.
Public Policy
Economics is a key toolkit for public policy and many QAMO alumni work in Washington DC, devising policy inside the government, or influencing it outside.
Graduate School
MBA? Law School? Ph.D.? QAMO alumni have been admitted to graduate degree programs at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, Columbia, and many more leading institutions.
Some QAMO majors pursue careers in management consulting. Others use econometrics and coding skills to take analytics- based roles, using data to help companies make better strategic decisions. Still others do an emphasis in a business discipline (like finance or marketing) and apply their QAMO tools in a finance or marketing role. Some students take their careers in a non- business direction entirely, by using QAMO skills to answer public policy questions in government or non- profits. And some go straight to graduate school; QAMO alumni have gotten MBAs, law degrees, public policy degrees, and some pursue a PhD in Economics.
