Student Spotlight: Judd Nichols
Meet Judd Nichols, a sophomore at the David Eccles School of Business pursuing a major in Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship.
Judd is deeply engaged in the Eccles community through his involvement in Business Student Government, where he serves as Director of Eccles Tradition, and as Recruitment Chair for The Delta Chi Fraternity. He’s also part of The Goff Strategic Leadership Institute’s Explorers program, which allows him to build leadership skills and explore innovative approaches to business challenges.
Outside of class, Judd enjoys thrifting, hiking, playing pickleball, and spending time with friends. He’s also a big TV fan, and his all-time favorite show is Game of Thrones, and his current favorite is The Morning Show.
When asked what advice he would give to fellow students, Judd encouraged others to embrace new opportunities:
“Always put yourself out there and stay true to who you are. College can be intimidating at first, but getting involved in classes, extracurriculars, and on-campus jobs makes a real difference. The more you show up and take chances, the more opportunities open.”
Judd’s favorite experience at Eccles has been a combination of two standout moments: studying abroad in Florence, Italy, and helping organize the Eccles Gala.
“I had never been to Europe before, so having the opportunity to study in Florence for a month with Professor Mark Crowley was surreal,” Judd shares. “Then being able to plan and organize the Eccles Gala while networking with peers, alumni, and faculty made it an incredible experience.”
Looking ahead, Judd hopes to combine his passion for business and creativity by working on the financial side of companies like A24 or Netflix. Eventually, he plans to start his own business, using his entrepreneurial mindset and the hands-on experiences he’s gained through his minor.
