Business Core Requirements

All undergraduate students must complete the Lower Division Core prior to applying for admission to Upper Division at the Eccles School.

Students pursuing the Quantitative Analysis of Markets & Organizations (QAMO) major follow different prerequisites than other business majors. Your academic advisor can assist you with any questions.

In Fall 2024, we will launch our newly revised business core curriculum, designed to equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s dynamic and ever-evolving business landscape. Where you are on your journey to graduation from the Eccles School will determine which path you follow.

Incoming Students

Welcome to the David Eccles School of Business!

Traditional Core

This curriculum path is for all incoming business students who are NOT part of the BSE Program.

BSE Core

This curriculum path is for all incoming freshmen in the Fall 2024 Business Scholars Experience (BSE) program.

Transfer Student

Transfer student curriculum pathways differ according to existing credits and degrees.

Current Students

No need to panic! Your Academic Advisor is here to walk you through any changes to your path.

BCOR Core

Are you a business student who has completed Business Fundamentals, BCOR 3010-3050, by the end of Summer 2024?

You will continue on the pre-Fall 2024 BCOR pathway with minor changes.

Hybrid Core

Are you a business student who has NOT completed Business Fundamentals? You are on the Hybrid Core path. Your academic advisor will work closely with you to determine how best to transition you into the new curriculum pathway.

If you have not completed Business Fundamentals, BCOR 3010-3050, by the end of Summer 2024, you will be assigned to the hybrid core.

The final offering of BCOR 2030 will be in Summer 2024.
