The Business Career Associate program is designed to strengthen your professionalism skills and enhance your job seeking success. As a Business Career Associate, you will develop your resume, interviewing, and networking skills with the help of professional career coach. This will grant you greater access to top employers through the Eccles resume book, and exclusive networking events and company visits.
Requirements
Undergraduate business and pre-business students are encouraged to apply. To become a Business Career Associate, please complete these steps by Jan. 30, 2016. (Application renewal is required each semester.)
Complete Interest Profile
Complete a five-minute Career Interest Profile
The information you provide each semester to Business Career Services will help connect you to relevant jobs and internships. After you complete the Career Interest Profile, you will automatically be enrolled in a Canvas course with further instructions about the introduction video, practice interview and resume requirements.
Submit Your Resume
Submit a polished, error-free resume through UCareerPath.
In order to be included in the Eccles School resume book, your resume should be completely error-free and should follow the formatting from one of our recommend templates.
Scoring will be based on this Resume Rubric. The process may require several drafts, so please plan ahead in order to meet this deadline. Detailed instructions will be provided through Canvas.
Practice Interview
Demonstrate strong interview skills during a practice interview.
Complete a practice interview either:
- With a career coach (schedule an appointment through UCareerPath or in SFEBB 1120)
- With a business career ambassador (schedule an appointment in SFEBB 1120)
- Through a HireVue video mock interview
Scoring will be determined using rubrics. Achieving a passing score may require several attempts, so please plan ahead in order to meet this deadline. Detailed instructions will be provided through Canvas.
Create a Short Video
Demonstrate networking skills by recording a HireVue introduction video.
Create a short video (30-45 seconds) that will be shared with employers. Your video could include your skills, interests, experiences and/or professional goals.
Interview rooms are available for recording your introduction. Achieving a passing score may require several attempts, so please plan ahead in order to meet this deadline. Detailed instructions will be provided through Canvas.
