We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our Eccles Global Information Systems Minor Summer cohort, consisting of 32 enthusiastic students, embarked on their journey from the USA to Korea earlier this week! They touched down at the vibrant Incheon Airport, ready to dive into an incredible adventure.

Over the next 12 weeks, our spirited cohort will be immersing themselves in an enriching program, spending six weeks in Korea and another six weeks in Japan. Students will earn a full Minor in Information Systems (IS) by engaging in a comprehensive curriculum covering five dynamic classes from the IS Minor program: IS 3596, IS 4420, IS 4430, IS 4440, and IS 4460.

But that’s not all! Their experience will extend far beyond the classroom walls. Our program is designed to offer an array of exciting activities, including thrilling excursions (DMZ, Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Kyoto), immersive workshops, captivating guest lectures, and insightful visits to local businesses and organizations.

Leading the way with boundless enthusiasm is our fearless leader, Eccles Global Director Buzz Welch. Buzz, along with Professor Vandana Ramachandran and IS Academic Director Chong Oh, are all dedicated to providing unwavering support and ensuring a seamless curriculum experience for our students. We are fortunate to have the incredible backing of the Utah Asia Campus (great support from President Greg Hill and Randy McCrillis) and the expertise of esteemed faculty members Dave Norwood, Stan Pugsley, and Byoung-Gu Gong.

As our vibrant cohort sets out on this remarkable journey, we wholeheartedly wish them the very best and an unforgettable summer filled with joy, growth, and incredible memories. Let the adventure begin!
