Adjunct, Faculty

Jordan began his career with Intermountain Healthcare 10 years ago working in the emergency room of Logan Regional Hospital. He spent late nights helping uninsured and immigrant patients with financial assistance and gained a love for both healthcare finance and helping patients in need. He graduated from Utah State University with an undergraduate degree in Biology & Chemistry and went on to manage a team of financial consultants for Intermountain’s Northern Region. During his time at USU, Jordan enjoyed working in a Biological Engineering research lab that genetically modified and cloned goats in order to extract spider silk from the goats’ milk. This experience ignited Jordan’s interest in analytics and research methods. In 2014, Jordan moved to Salt Lake City and accepted a consultant role with Prosper Healthcare Lending. He oversaw and was responsible for over $12 million in elective medical financing and supported nearly 1000 infertility, bariatric, and plastic surgery clinics across the country.

Jordan then transitioned to an analytics role with the University of Utah Decision Support team within the Finance Department. In this role, he established the framework for MyChart reporting that is used across the U Health system and supported the Department of Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, and Equity of Care for minority ethnicities/transgender patient populations. He then joined the Community Physician Group as a Sr. Business Intelligence Developer and was the lead analytics support for the Patient-Centered Medical Home accreditation process. He has since transitioned and currently works within the medical group as the Finance & Analytics Manager. This role requires the development and maintenance of a $50 million revenue budget and oversight of all analytics projects for the group.

Jordan’s technical expertise is primarily focused on SAP Business Objects, Tableau, SQL, and enjoys anything that can be put into a spreadsheet. His experience includes both inpatient and ambulatory finance and using advanced analytical skills to make operational decisions. Jordan is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and currently serves on the UHE mentoring committee. He is a Tableau Desktop Certified Associate and obtained both a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) and a Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI) from the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of Utah.

Jordan lives in South Jordan with his wife and 2-year-old son. If any free time can be found you will find Jordan playing pickleball or basketball, woodworking in his garage, or arguing the
benefits of a well maintained personal finance plan.
