Shannon Yanes is a junior studying Marketing and Information Systems with a minor in Business Analytics. Outside class, Shannon likes to eat at new restaurants, attend concerts, and do crafts, like making purses and cross-stitching. Since moving to Utah for college, she has found new hobbies, such as hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.

She has been involved in campus and Eccles student life throughout her college journey by participating in clubs and student jobs. She is an intern at the Business, Marketing, and Communications office, a Goff ambassador, a Mentor for Goff Pathfinders, and the Event Coordinator for the American Marketing Association at the David Eccles School of Business. Outside the Eccles School, she is a University Ambassador, where one of her favorite college experiences happened – she had the opportunity to travel to California for four days with a few other ambassadors, explore, and eat at Din Tai Fung.

Shannon emphasizes the importance of never saying “no” to an opportunity. “One of my favorite things about the business school is how many unique opportunities there are to get involved. I would definitely advise you to take advantage so you can get the most out of your time here.” She took this advice for herself and got her favorite Eccles Experience thus far, receiving an honorable mention with her group for their recommendation at the Wasteless Solutions Case Competition.
