As the undergraduate student government of the David Eccles School of Business, Business Leaders Incorporated (BLinc) is honored to have worked alongside such amazing student leaders and organizations throughout the 2018-19 academic year. These student organizations and clubs have done incredible work within the Eccles School community, across campus, and throughout the Salt Lake Valley. To commemorate, recognize, and celebrate these achievements, BLinc and the Office of Student Engagement and Assessment (SEA) hosted the Student Leader Celebration.

During the festivities, student leaders and their teams were invited to enjoy a luncheon centered around why student leadership is so important. Claire Morawski, the outgoing BLinc CEO, and Jess Taverna, Director of Undergraduate Programs, both gave their insights on this while commending the student leaders in the Eccles School. Madalin Rooker, an outgoing senior, spoke in depth on how being involved in student leadership ultimately changed her undergraduate experience while allowing her to impact others’ Eccles Experiences as well.

Alongside Madalin, the following student leaders and organizations were highlighted and awarded:

  • Emerging Student Leader of the Year – ‘Ainu Kaufusi
  • Engaged Student Leader of the Year – Rosario Bibiano
  • Peer Mentor of the Year – Mitch Wulfman
  • Student Employee of the Year – Molly Coughlin
  • Student Leader of the Year – Madalin Rooker
  • Student Organization of the Year – Women in Business
  • Commitment to Community Award – Beta Alpha Psi
  • Commitment to Innovation Award – American Marketing Association

To end the luncheon, Audrey Michels, the incoming BLinc CEO, shared her excitement for the upcoming academic year. The influence and impact student leadership can have on individuals, groups, and communities on this campus are truly unparalleled, and BLinc is extremely grateful to have the opportunity to highlight this.
