New undergraduate track in healthcare management
Are you interested in healthcare management? There’s a new business track that is just for you!
The Healthcare Management track in the Department of Management is a unique program that prepares undergraduate students for careers on the business side of healthcare.
Juniors and seniors can get started this spring by signing up for MGT 5850 Challenges of Healthcare Management, offered Monday and Wednesday from 4:20 to 5:40 p.m. It’s not too late to register, and non-management majors are welcome to apply. The course is also an excellent option for an elective.
The class will provide an overview of the U.S. healthcare system and the management challenges administrators face. Students will understand the management skills needed to balance the constant tension between providing quality care and lowering costs.
Steven B. Bateman, CEO of St. Mark’s Hospital, will teach the course, so students will get a real-world perspective throughout the class.
