Associate Dean Natalie Gochnour, the chief economist for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, penned a column dissecting Utah Gov. Gary Herbert’s proposed state budget for the 2015 fiscal year. As usual, it’s a thoughtful analysis from a Utah thought leader that we’re lucky to have as part of the David Eccles School of Business community.

Gochnour, who is part of a group of business school leadership and faculty hosting state legislators next week for some training and informational sessions on economic and demographic trends, writes, in part:

“Gov. Herbert has provided a useful framework for the Legislature to fulfill its constitutional duty. The partnership between the executive and legislative branch works. The governor proposes; the Legislature disposes. Utah is well positioned for the future.”

To learn more about how Gochnour reached that conclusion by delving into the state’s challenges on taxes, education funding, the debt and more, read the complete article right here.
