New fintech program graduates first students

Six students became the first to graduate from the University of Utah’s new options to study financial technology (or fintech) earlier this year. Four earned a finance major with a fintech emphasis, and two earned a minor in fintech. The degree programs were first announced in fall 2022. They are jointly offered by the university’s David Eccles School of Business and the John and Marcia Price College of Engineering. 27th Annual Eccles Business Open Scholarship Drive a success!

The David Eccles School of Business hosted the 27th Annual Advance Displays Eccles Business Open Scholarship Drive earlier this month at the beautiful Hidden Valley Country Club. This year’s golf tournament and accompanying auction raised a record-breaking $128,320, with all profits going directly to student scholarships at the Eccles School. Dean Rachel Hayes welcomed golfers back to the clubhouse after their blue-skied day on the course, to award the winning foursomes and celebrate some of the other records broken at this year’s tournament. Professor Alder Keynotes International Relations Summit

Professor Stephen C. Alder was a special guest keynote speaker at the International Relations, Diplomacy, and Human Rights Virtual Summit 2023 on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. The summit was hosted by the International Human Rights Commission African office (IHRC AFRICA) in Accra, Ghana, with the theme of “Assessment of Unjust Wars and Global Instability on Human Rights.” Professor Alder’s talk was titled Health as a Human Right.
