Co-founder of HealthSouth speaks to Eccles Students
Aaron Beam, the co-founder and former CFO of HealthSouth who was invited by the Eccles School of Business Ethics Club and sponsored by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative gave a presentation to a room full of business students on Tuesday, September 27th.
After being introduced by the Business Ethics Club president, Mr. Beam talked about his experience with HealthSouth, his errors in judgment, ethical lapses and the time he spent in federal prison for being convicted of cooking the books.
His message to students was this: if you are ever being challenged to compromise your ethical principles, just do not do it. Never compromise your ethics for financial gain.
Always believe that the American Dream becomes more accessible when businesses operate in an honest and transparent manner.
Over 250 students attended his presentation.
