Congratulations to Michelle Doong, one of our Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) graduate students, for being named a 2016 Diversity Commercial Real Estate Scholarship recipient.

“The MRED program has been a great resource and networking opportunity for my career growth,” said Doong. “I’m thankful to have NAIOP supporting my educational goals and strongly encourage students to get involved with career specific organizations.”

The NAIOP Diversity CRE Scholarship benefits undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in commercial real estate. Five $5,000 scholarships have been awarded to individuals from demographics that are traditionally under-represented in commercial real estate and who are part of the NAIOP University Membership program.

In addition to the scholarship, each award recipient receives the opportunity to expand his or her business network and sharpen commercial real estate acumen with complimentary registration for NAIOP’s Commercial Real Estate Conference to be held next month in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Eccles School’s Master of Real Estate Development is a joint program in the David Eccles School of Business and College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah.

“We’re very proud of Michelle for what she has achieved in her career and for receiving this scholarship,” said Danny Wall, director of the Eccles School’s MRED program. “We know she’ll continue to add to her commercial real estate development expertise here at the Eccles School and become an even stronger team member at work.”

Doong is expected to complete her MRED in 2017 and works at Mountain West Retail Investments as a commercial real estate broker and retail specialist.
