Jim Sheets

Master of Healthcare Administration

Jim Sheets is the Vice President of Outreach Services Development for Intermountain Healthcare. This role includes system strategy, market growth, and business development, as well as accountability for outreach services, telehealth, provider support services, LifeFlight, and the transfer center. Jim has been an Intermountain leader since 2007 — serving as CEO and Administrator at LDS Hospital and as Operations Officer prior to his current role. Prior to joining Intermountain, Jim held leadership positions for nearly a decade at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix and Enloe Medical Center in Chico, California.

Jim earned both Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Utah. He also completed an administrative fellowship at Catholic Healthcare West and Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital in California. Jim is an adjunct professor in the Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and is a past Chair of the Advisory Board for the Master in Healthcare Administration program at the University of Utah.

Jim is committed to the growth and development of young careerists in healthcare. He has always been drawn to the noble mission and higher purpose that a career in healthcare provides. He has learned that one can truly make a difference when committing to a career in healthcare. He believes strongly in Intermountain Healthcare’s mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible. Jim also places great value on authentic relationships, candid and transparent communication, and fun at work.

As a married father of 5 children, Jim spends much of his free time watching and coaching his kids in various sports and activities. Jim also enjoys golf, skiing, fishing, and backpacking in the beautiful Utah wilderness area. A native of Holladay, Utah, Jim is actively involved with his local community, schools, and church.
