Andrea Brandley is a research associate at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute where she provides research, analysis, and reporting on a range of subjects including economics and public policy.
Ms. Brandley conducts research to help fulfill the Gardner Institute’s role in encouraging informed decisions. She is currently contributing to research regarding state budgeting practices, public education financing, health and COVID-19, and economic impacts.
Prior to her role at the Gardner Institute, Ms. Brandley worked as a public school teacher. She continues to teach part-time at Uintah Elementary School in Salt Lake City. Previously, she taught at Box Elder High School, West Point Junior High, and for the Upward Bound program at the University of Utah. She also worked as a legislative intern for Salt Lake City School District, a teaching assistant for the University of Utah sociology department, and as a research analyst for various studies addressing education, homelessness, and child abuse.
Andrea holds a B.S. in Mathematics Education and a B.F.A in Theatre Arts Education from Utah State University and a Master’s of Public Policy from the University of Utah.
