Undergraduate Scholarship Application

These annual scholarships are funded through the generous support of our prestigious donors. The application is competitive, but all submitted applications will be evaluated holistically since funding is limited. Meaning, the committee will select recipients based on merit and a myriad of factors that affect degree completion, such as financial need, personal hardship, extracurricular activities, work experience, and/or specific criteria set by donors. Although some scholarships have very specific criteria, the committee will strive to balance awarding both need-based and merit-based scholarships.

Scholarships are stackable with most University of Utah and Eccles School scholarships. Check the terms and conditions of your scholarship or reach out to the awarding department.

The scholarship committee takes a holistic approach when evaluating and selecting applicants for scholarships since funding is limited. Although some scholarships have very specific criteria, the committee will strive to balance awarding both need-based and merit-based scholarships.

Some factors that are heavily weighted, but not limited to, are as follows:

  • Major status
  • Merit
  • First generation
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Volunteer work
  • Extracurricular activities and work experience
  • Adversities
  • Career goals

Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours), and all scholarships are awarded for Fall and Spring semesters unless the scholarship committee or program director has approved an exception. We do not offer Summer semester scholarships.

Scholarship recipients must continue to make progress toward an undergraduate business degree at the University of Utah.

Graduating seniors are still eligible to apply and can receive their award at less than full-time status and may receive their total scholarship allotment for Fall Semester if graduating. The committee will also consider applicants enrolled part-time if they qualify and are the best candidates for a particular scholarship.

These scholarships are neither renewable nor deferrable; applicants must reapply each year to be reconsidered.
