Diego Alvarez is a sophomore majoring in Marketing at the David Eccles School of Business. He completed a summer internship with PBS Utah.

What was your favorite thing about your internship?
I enjoyed the opportunity to sit in on Marketing meetings and learn from leaders at PBS Utah. I also loved shadowing different marketing people and learning how they did each of their jobs.

What was the hardest part of the interview process?
I’ve always struggled with not knowing what to say during interviews, but my Business Career Coach, Ashlee Roberts, taught me the S.T.A.R method, which helped me feel comfortable during the interview process.

What piece of advice would you give to fellow students applying for internships?
Look for alternative opportunities provided on campus. There are a ton of great programs that can connect students with internships, like the Hinckley Institute and Goff Explorers. A unique part of Goff Explorers is that you are mentored and guided throughout the whole process.
