Eccles School alum makes it easier to buy electric bikes for U community
David Eccles School of Business alumna Angela Wright is working to help Utahns catch a breath of fresh air by making it easier to purchase electric bikes.
The 2014 Executive MBA graduate is the owner of Bingham Cyclery, and her bicycle shop is one of five partnering with the University of Utah to offer discounts on electric bikes to help reduce emissions in the state.
The University of Utah Office of Sustainability is partnering with the energy advocacy group Utah Clean Energy to offer the discount program to U community members. Program participants receive 10 to 25 percent off electric bikes, depending on the make and model of the bike.
A test ride event will allow riders to try out the electric bikes. The event is on May 15 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 540 Guardsman Way. Riders will traverse the Guardsman Way Bicycle Lane and adjoining University of Utah parking lot.
