Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative hosts screening of ‘Betting on Zero’
Students turned out in droves for a recent screening of the documentary “Betting on Zero,” hosted by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative and the Student Center for Public Trust.
The film follows hedge fund titan Bill Ackman’s quest to expose nutrition company Herbalife as a pyramid scheme. Ackman alleges that Herbalife targets low-income and minority communities, robbing them of their life savings with the promise of success as an Herbalife distributor. The film chronicle’s Ackman’s allegations and the response from Herbalife stockholder Carl Icahn, the Latino community activism movement surrounding the controversy and the eventual intervention of the Federal government.
