Tim Liu

Tim is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Utah David Eccles Schools of Business. His research seeks to understand how firms raise and allocate capital, with a focus on financial policy, capital structure, credit ratings, and employee compensation.

When Tim is not researching or teaching, he is spending time with friends and family. You can find Tim at the climbing gym, chess club, local tennis courts, or biking around town.

Prior his PhD studies at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Tim worked in investment banking at Citigroup in New York City. Tim completed his undergraduate studies at University of Pennsylvania, with a BS in Statistics from the Wharton School and a BA in Economics from the College of Arts and Sciences.
