Lei Wang holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Information Management from the School of Business at the University of Connecticut. She also holds a Master’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Her research focuses on the integration and impact of digital technologies in business. Her main areas of research include artificial intelligence (AI), digital platforms, digital commerce, gamification, and user engagement. She employs diverse methodologies in her research, ranging from machine learning and statistical modeling to field and laboratory experiments and applied econometrics. Her contributions to the field have been recognized through publications in leading journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, and Decision Support Systems. Her research received the INFORMS ISS Nunamaker-Chen Dissertation Award in 2015.
Dr. Wang actively contributes to the academic community as an Associate Editors and serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, and Service Science. She also serves as an associate editor, session chair, discussant, or program committee member for conferences including ICIS, CIST, WITS, WISE, CSWIM, and PACIS.
