Kristen Austion is an Instructional Designer at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. In her current role, she partners with subject matter experts, staff, and corporate clients to create robust and engaging learning experiences. Kristen earned her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Tennessee, where she developed an expertise in pedagogy, online learning, multimedia development, accessibility, and copyright. Kristen also serves on the EDI Steering Committee at the David Eccles School of Business.
Professional areas of interest for Kristen include learner motivation, learner engagement, and the organization and processes of instructional design teams. Kristen’s most recent publication is titled “Free Asynchronous Professional Development by, from, and for Instructional Designers: How the Informal Learning Opportunities Shape our Professional Learning and Design Practices” and can be found in the September 2021 issue of the Journal of Applied Instructional Design.
Outside of her work, Kristen enjoys camping, trying new foods, and spending quality time with friends and family.
