In partnership with the Hinckley Institute and CEA CAPA, spend a transformative 9.5-weeks in one of Europe’s most vibrant and innovative cities. With Eccles Global, you’ll go beyond the classroom to experience Barcelona’s rich culture, dynamic business environment, and global connections.

Eligibility and Requirements

Degree-seeking undergrad or recent grad (within 6 months)

Completed at least one year of full-time undergrad coursework

Good academic and disciplinary standing

Minimum GPA 2.5

*If you are a recent graduate please keep in mind you will not be eligible for any university funding

Global Internship Fee

$7,395

Fee includes tuition and fees, housing, career workshops, limited in-country transportation, and planned excursions, ensuring that you can focus on your studies and enjoy your time abroad without worrying about logistical details.

Move into the interview and placement stage

Step 3:

If approved your application will move onto CEA CAPA for final placement and paperwork with your host organization

Internship Detials

Gain hands-on international work experience while earning academic credit. Through an 9.5-week program (20 hours per week), you’ll develop career readiness skills, build an e-portfolio, and enhance your intercultural awareness.

Alongside your internship (unpaid), you’ll receive 3 Hinckley Institute Credits (HNKLY 4903).

You’ll be supported by an Industry-Certified Career Specialist and local coordinators who match you with a placement aligned to your goals and provide career coaching every step of the way.

You can specialize your internship in a variety of fields, including Business, Communication, Design, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain—tailoring the program to your career goals.

Scholarship Opportunities

USHE International Internship

Scholarship

A state pilot program offering up to $5,000 one-time awards to USHE students for approved international internships, prioritizing financial need.

Eligibility:

  • USHE students participating in approved international internships
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • One-time award eligibility

Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship

Federal scholarship program offering up to $5,000, supporting undergraduate students with limited financial means to study or intern abroad.

Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizens or nationals
  • Undergraduate students in good standing
  • Federal Pell Grant recipients
  • Credit-bearing programs in safe travel advisory countries

Hinckley Institute Global Internship Scholarship

The Hinckley Institute of Political Science at the University of Utah provides scholarships for students completing global internships ranging from $300 – $3,000.

Eligibility:

  • University of Utah students
  • Participating in global internship programs
  • Various award amounts based on need and merit

Passport Requirement

Students are responsible for obtaining their own passports and any applicable visas.*
