Mary Barra currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of General Motors. After being elected in 2014, she focused efforts on improving customer service and strengthening their company’s vehicle and service business while also looking to further technologies such as connectivity, electrification, and autonomous driving. GM envisions a world with no crashes, no emissions, and no congestion, giving their customers back an extremely important resource — time.

Before becoming Chairman and CEO, Barra served in several positions such as Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain, and the Executive Vice President. She began at General Motors in 1980 as a General Motors Institute (Kettering University) co-op student and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1985. Currently, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Walt Disney Company, Duke University Board of Trustees, and the Detroit Economic Club.
