Women’s History Month: Julie Sweet
Editor’s Note: The David Eccles School of Business is celebrating Women’s History Month by sharing the successes of women leaders who have made big impacts in the business world.
Julie Sweet has served as the CEO of Accenture, a multinational professional services company, since September of 2019. Before her appointment, she was the CEO of Accenture’s North American business, the company’s largest geographic market. She currently also serves on the board of directors for the Business Roundtable and is the chair of its Technology Committee.
In her position as CEO, she has advocated for inclusion, diversity, and workplace gender parity. As a company, Accenture has a goal to have a staff equally represented by men and women by the year 2025. Sweet is a leader in different topics including innovation and technology’s impact on business. In 2020, Sweet was named Number One on Fortune’s list of “Most Powerful Women in Business.”
