West Valley City (WVC) demonstrated its commitment to fostering community and supporting the Opportunity Scholars Program by generously providing 200 tickets to a Utah Grizzlies hockey game for students in the program.

Beyond providing entertainment, the event also served as a valuable stress reliever for students navigating the demands of midterms. One attendee shared, “Thank you very much for sponsoring this event. I was able to relieve some stress after midterms and invite a few friends to tag along with me to our very first hockey game.”

The generosity of West Valley City made it possible for students to create lasting memories with their families, many of whom would not have had the opportunity to attend otherwise. As one scholar expressed, “This would only be possible due to the generosity of the donors, as my family would not be able to afford this otherwise. Although we lost the game, I would not have had the opportunity otherwise, so thank you so very much.”
