Utah likely to see more in-state venture capital for tech, Gochnour says

Utah’s venture capital market is currently comprised of mostly outside money, but the state is poised to change that.

Associate Dean Natalie Gochnour believes Utah is turning a major curve when it comes to tech investment. The state has always had a strong tech presence, but is seeing increasing growth in the venture capital sector, which is set to rapidly expand.

“I would venture to say that huge portions of the money is coming from outside investors,” Gochnour told the Deseret News. “But we’re on the side of the curve where more and more is likely to stay.”
