Thomas Friedman, journalist, author and three time Pulitzer Prize winner, spoke at the inaugural Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute symposium on Tuesday, Jan. 3. The current New York Times columnist joined Mitt Romney, Governor Gary Herbert, Mayor Ben McAdams, Mayor Jackie Biskupski and other local dignitaries to discuss his new book “Thank You for Being Late: an Optimist’s Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations.”

The book discusses the pace at which the world is changing and how that pace demands humans have accelerated adaptability. During the talk Friedman also discussed free trade and changing 21st century leadership. You can read coverage of the event at the Salt Lake Tribune and Fox 13.
