Dear Eccles School Community,

I am excited to announce the rollout of our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiative at the David Eccles School of Business.

Since last summer, I have spent time talking with many people throughout our Eccles School community and beyond as they continue working toward inclusion, and it has given me a renewed empathy. It’s a feeling I know I share with many of you.

We at the Eccles School are committed to intentionally working to be a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive place for all.

Over the last several months, we have engaged with our administration, staff, students, and faculty to help inform the work ahead. From those voices, we have drafted a framework for a plan to hold our community accountable for our actions and inspire the change we would like to see. If you’d like to learn more about that framework and meet our committee members who have been working to draft it, you can do so by going to Eccles.link/EDI.

The framework is just a start. To take the framework to the next stage requires everyone.

Each of us has a role in creating a more inclusive culture, and we hope that you will join us in the ongoing effort to be better. Throughout the Spring Semester, we encourage you to engage I this conversation beginning with our annual Inclusion Week, which will be hosted virtually Feb. 1-5.

If you are interested in getting more involved in the work ahead, please email studentinclusion@Eccles.Utah.edu.

Thank you for being part of the Eccles School community and for sharing our dedication to a more inclusive future.

Best,
Taylor Randall
