Brian Cadman, Chair of the School of Accounting, announces the creation of the Dr. Bob Allen Endowed Scholarship.

For more than 30 years, Dr. Robert D. Allen, a dedicated pillar of the School of Accounting at the David Eccles School of Business, has been a guiding light for both students and colleagues. His influence has been profound, shaping lives and fostering a vibrant academic community.

During his tenure from 2005 to 2009, Dr. Allen held the esteemed position of School of Accounting Chair. His commitment to education was evident in his roles as a professor in the Master of Accounting and MBA programs, and as a faculty advisor for the Eccles School’s Opportunity Scholars Program. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Allen’s engagement extended to the American Accounting Association, where he played an active role, as well as to leadership positions with CIT Bank and The Road Home.

As Dr. Allen embarks on a new chapter as the Dean of the Utah Valley University Woodbury School of Business, the School of Accounting recognizes his contributions and dedication with the formation of this scholarship.

According to current School of Accounting Chair Brian Cadman, “We are pleased to also announce that an anonymous donor has stepped forward with a remarkable matching gift opportunity.” For every contribution made to the Dr. Bob Allen Endowed Scholarship, the donor will match each donation 2:1 up to $50,000. This generous commitment triples the impact of each individual contribution and will create a wide-reaching ripple effect for School of Accounting students.

This scholarship will be administered by the David Eccles School of Business.
