Multicultural Gala 2025: Celebrating Culture & Connection

The Eccles community came together for the 4th annual Multicultural Gala for an evening of cultural celebrations and education, meaningful connections, and shared experiences. Through delicious food, lively performances, and meaningful conversations, the Multicultural Gala created a welcoming space by bringing students and faculty together to celebrate our community.

At the Multicultural Gala, attendees enjoyed a variety of dishes from local SLC businesses, bringing delicious flavors to the table. Every dish served was more than just a meal, it was a way to share and celebrate different cultures.

The celebration went beyond food, expanding to cultural performances from local SLC dancers. Attendees enjoyed a variety of performances, each showcasing the unique traditions and art forms of different cultures:

Naakaii Tsosie – A Native American Hoop Dance that captures the beauty and significance of Indigenous culture and storytelling.

Piero Gongora Marinera Studio – A colorful performance of Marinera, a traditional Peruvian partner dance featuring graceful movements, intricate footwork, and vibrant costumes.

Utah Patakhas – University of Utah’s Bollywood-based dance group immersed in blending different styles of dance, with a Desi twist.

Highland Highsteppers – Utah’s only step team, they performed with energy, precision, and passion to deliver a high-spirited performance.

Starlett Mars Magazine: Drag Queen – A talented drag queen who infuses energy and confidence to every performance, blending the art of drag with her Latin heritage.

Halau Ku Pono – A beautiful Hawaiian Hula dance, closing the evening with a heartfelt tribute to cultural tradition and community.

“The Multicultural gala was a blast! Something about seeing different cultures come together was great to see. I found the performances to be the most amazing aspect of the event. Personally, events like these showcase the richness of the David Eccles School of Business and its student body.” – Jonathan Contreras, junior at the David Eccles School of Business studying Operations & Supply Chain.

The Multicultural Gala was an opportunity to celebrate the many different cultural backgrounds and shared experiences in the Eccles community. By showcasing the wide range of cultures through food, dance, and conversations, the David Eccles School of Business has fostered an environment where students are not only welcomed but celebrated for their unique perspectives and experiences.
