The Master of Finance program at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business leapt to a top 25 ranking nationwide.

Last year, the program was ranked No. 47. This year the program landed at No. 25 in The Financial Engineering Times’ 2016 Master of Finance Rankings.

“It is an honor to be in such esteemed company,” said Taylor Randall, dean of the David Eccles School of Business. “This jump in rankings further validates our efforts to provide a world-class business education to students and ensure we preparing them for productive careers. Several of our programs are now ranked in the top 25.”

The Financial Engineering Times rankings are based on criteria that includes: GMAT scores, starting salary, undergraduate GPA, program acceptance rate, graduates employed at graduation, and graduates employed 3 months after graduation.

“We are thrilled to have the excellence of our program recognized,” said Danny Wall, director of the Master of Science in Finance program at the Eccles School. “Our students continue to excel in the classroom and in their careers.”

Only one of two such programs in the Intermountain West, the David Eccles School of Business Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program is an intensive one-year degree with an accommodating part-time option that adds clout to resumes and expands finance industry career options.

An MSF degree is rapidly becoming more of a requirement and less of an option for those seeking advanced careers in venture capital, financial trading, risk and asset management, financial consulting and other technical financial fields.
