Alex Carr, founder of CharPoles, recently received a patent from the U.S. Patent Office for his clever ski poles that allow for the attachment of everything from GoPro cameras to bottle openers to tools to fix bindings.

While Carr had the vision for the product, he wouldn’t have been able to make it without the help and support of both the David Eccles School of Business and the J. Willard Marriott Library.

In a video made through a collaboration between the Eccles School and the Marriott Library, Carr explains how librarians provided him the resources he needed to file a patent.

Eccles School students can find resources such as patent expertise, industry-specific research publications, Pantone color libraries and more at the Marriott Library.
