Deanna Drollinger never thought she’d find her dream job in Dallas.

The first-generation college student, though, found herself on the path to an internship with PwC in Dallas after earning a scholarship through the Opportunity Scholars program at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business.

Those scholarships are funded through donations like the ones that come in during Love Utah Give Utah, taking place on March 26.

Drollinger was able to take on leadership roles throughout her college career, and she travelled with an accounting group to Dallas, and she was invited to PwC’s prestigious national Summer Leadership program in Atlanta to represent the North Texas office.Deanna Drollinger's Eccles Experience changed her life and career forever.

“Everyone was so open,” she said about the program, “We’d come together, all 500 of us, share our personal stories and insights, and grow as one team.” Her confidence flourished as she continued to open herself up to new possibilities.

She accepted the internship with PwC for summer of 2016, and while she knows that her hard work and determination got her there, she also knows the support from faculty at the Eccles School did, too.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the mentorship of Martha Eining, director of accounting, Marci Butterfield, BAP adviser, and professors like Michael Lewis and Shannon Charles who believed in me and challenged me to go further,” she said.
