Keith A. Kelly, a Third District Court judge, will speak about the importance of ethics in building credibility in the litigation world.

The Ethics Club and the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at The University of Utah David Eccles School of Business will host Kelly on Jan. 20. He will share his experiences and observations of ethics and their effects on attorneys, judges and juries he has encountered over his 23 years as a practicing lawyer at Ray Quinney & Nebeker and his six years as a Third District Court judge.

“Personal credibility is so important in the legal process,” Kelly said. “When you’re ethical in litigation, you become more credible to a jury or a judge, and I want to share with those in attendance how credibility affects the litigation process.”

Kelly will present and take audience questions from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20 in the Bill and Pat Child Family Community Hall on the seventh floor of the Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building (1655 East Campus Center Drive) at the Eccles School.

Members of the community and students are invited to attend the free event.
