The Department of Finance at the David Eccles School of Business recently launched its Finance Fireside Chat series with Lew Goodwin of Square Financial Services. An alumnus of the Eccles School, Mr. Goodwin shared his extensive knowledge and expertise in the financial services and fintech industries.
The event also provided a valuable networking opportunity for both faculty and students. Attendees had the chance to delve into topics relevant to the classroom curriculum and explore potential career opportunities in the financial sector.
“I not only learned more about the fintech space, but I also received advice on entering the professional world, being adaptable to change, and navigating challenges,” said Eccles student Gabriela Miller.
Mr. Goodwin also serves as a donor for Opportunity Scholars, an Eccles cohort program that provides scholarships to first-generation students. Scholarship recipient Ernesto Bustillos III expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet an accomplished alumnus. Getting to know our donors face-to-face was an unforgettable experience.”
