How Utah’s declining birth rate might impact its economy

Utah has long been known as the “youngest state in the nation” for its high fertility rate.

But that is rapidly changing, Natalie Gochnour says in her most recent column for the Deseret News. The number of births per woman has dropped from 4.3 in 1960 to 2.3 today.
