The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute is starting a student program called Ivory Experiences that is being underwritten by the Ivory Foundation. It provides undergraduate students a unique opportunity to interact and learn from the Institute as well as prominent business and community leaders. Each semester, 10 undergraduate students will be selected to take part in the Ivory Experiences.

Ivory Experience Opportunities

  • Public Policy Lunch: Monthly lunches hosted at the Thomas S. Monson Center on critical public policy issues impacting our world
  • Day on the Hill: Meetings with legislators and staff members from Legislature and Governor’s Office
  • Policy Encounter: Site visit to an economic region of the state
  • Newsmaker Breakfasts: Monthly breakfasts at Institute with decision makers
  • Mentoring from Gardner Institute staff members
  • Salt Lake Chamber Economic Policy Summit

Who qualifies?

  • Undergraduate students, any major
  • Must hold a 3.0 GPA
  • Show involvement or interest in public policy
  • How to apply: Submit a letter of interest and resume to colleen.larson@utah.edu.
  • Deadline: Aug 2, 2019
