(September 18, 2019) — The Full-Time MBA program at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business has been ranked No. 36 overall in Forbes’ Best Business Schools 2019 ranking. The program, which has never before been ranked by Forbes, also ranked No. 6 in the West.

“The Forbes Best Business Schools MBA rankings are unique in that the ranking is based on a factor that is often top of mind for potential full-time MBA students: return on investment,” said Stephanie Geisler, director of the Full-Time MBA program. “The landscape for MBA programs nationwide is incredibly competitive so we are proud to deliver strong results for our graduates.”

The Eccles School has made significant investments in Full-Time MBA education in recent years, ranging from hiring prestigious faculty from around the globe to serve as faculty advisors, revitalizing the Full-Time MBA Career Management Center, and constructing and opening three new premier buildings in the past seven years.

“This ranking shows that the Eccles School’s continuous improvement efforts in our Full-Time MBA program, from administration to academics to scholarships, are delivering results for our students,” said Dean Taylor Randall. “While financial return is not the only reason to pursue an MBA, it is an important one and shows that our students are leaving with the skills they need to make a mark in the workplace.”

In August 2018, all four MBA programs and Executive Education moved to their new home in the purpose-built Robert H. and Katharine B. Garff Building, giving MBA students more study and classroom space, along with executive-level amenities.

“It is an honor to have our Full-Time MBA program join the ranks of Forbes’ top-40 MBA programs,” said Brad Vierig, associate dean of MBA Programs & Executive Education at the Eccles School. “I am proud of the work ethic our full-time students display from their first day in class through to securing post-graduation employment outcomes, and beyond.”
