First Ascent Scholars celebrate 2024 graduates
The First Ascent Scholars Program recently celebrated its 2024 graduating seniors. Students, faculty, donors, and staff came together to mark this important milestone — especially joyful as many had missed their in-person high school graduation due to the pandemic.
Selected as this year’s keynote speaker, Jhareil Hutchinson spoke about the transformative impact of the First Ascent Scholars Program on his academic journey, a testament to the program’s commitment to student success.
“It’s crazy how fast four years fly by,” he said. “My time with First Ascent has been filled with immense gratitude and appreciation for those who have supported me throughout my undergraduate journey. Thank you is simply not enough. Go Utes!”
After a fantastic meal with family, peers, and community, graduates received their program stoles and certificates of completion.
