First Ascent Scholars are all smiles until a gator says ‘Hello’
After finals week for the Fall 2018 semester, why not relax and explore the hot and humid state of Florida?
Our current 4th-year First Ascent Scholars were able to spend a week in Miami after finals week in December. They not only got to explore the beach, and the culturally rich “Little Havana,” but they also were invited to visit a few companies down there whose people and culture are at the root of their success.
Alongside Jeff and Helen Cardon, donors and founders of the First Ascent Scholars program, Victoria Cabal, program director, and Guadalupe Feria, graduate assistant, our crew also got to ride through the Everglades and meet some gators.
Thankfully, no one got eaten by gators, and everyone was able to have a good time from work and learning, to beach and exploration.
